Gultekdi wholesale flower market to resume operations on June 18 at 50% capacity

BJ Deshmukh, administrator of the Pune Agriculture Produce Market Committee (APMC), said: “The flower market had been closed for three months due to the Covid-19 pandemic. APMC had previously prioritized resuming vegetable, fruit and grocery business during the lockdown and now we have given permission for traders to start the flower market.

The wholesale flower market located in Gultekdi, Market Yard, will resume operations on June 18 after being closed for three months due to the Covid-19 lockdown.

APMC had previously prioritized resuming vegetable, fruit and grocery business during the lockdown and now we have given permission for traders to start the flower market.

“The flower market will only operate at 50% capacity and traders will have to follow the even-odd formula to run their business. Half of the traders will operate on the first day, while the other half will resume operations the next day. Only traders will be allowed inside the flower market, who will follow all necessary precautions, and residents will not be allowed to enter. Residents will have to buy flowers from retailers in their respective localities.
