“We are delighted to have the opportunity to partner again with CompetitorME and offer virtual race options for fundraising and our supporters’ enjoyment,” said Karen worcester, Executive Director, Wreaths Across America. “Despite the pandemic, last year we saw local groups and individuals take part in our virtual races across the country and share the mission as they found a healthy way to stay active and involved in their communities. We hope to build on this momentum by offering these new options to get involved and help share the mission of remembering, honoring, teaching. “

Each individual entry into the race sponsors a new Veteran’s Balm wreath that will be placed on the gravestone of an American hero on the December 18, 2021, as part of National Wreath Day across America. Group or individual fundraising tools and abilities are available for all races and there is a TEAM option for the Escort to Arlington challenge.

Upon payment, registrants can designate the sponsoring group or participating Wreaths Across America location to which they would like their sponsored crown to be awarded. Entrants will receive personalized race bibs and commemorative end-of-race medallions, along with event t-shirts. There is also a free Race Joy app available for download by registrants to listen as they participate to learn more about the mission, hear the stories of those who served and the names of those who sacrificed for our freedom.

“Following the success of last year’s first Stem to Stone running program, which was ultimately run completely virtual with the exception of one run in Maine, we saw a great opportunity to try new and creative ways to involve the running community in the mission, ”said Jonathan kelley, owner ConcurrentME. “Thanks to the personal involvement of our own team with the WAA escort for Arlington, we saw what the mission means to Gold Star families across our nation and how important it is to remember, honor, teach, every day of the year, and want to bring this to life. experience to more people. “
